Districts

I went to the school spelling bee. But I have bad news. Sorry eighth grade you just got schooled by a fourth grader. Yup you can thank me all you want but better luck next year. The competition is held at a hotel in my home town. It is the same words so I am pretty confident. However I am competing against some of my ex-school spellers. I hope they don't be too competitive at districts.

While I was sitting by the top five spellers I felt all small. I am the only elementary student and THE ONLY GIRL  from my school.

Steady Study Progress

I have not yet finished my 'first stage' for memorizing the words for my spelling bee but I will go on to stage two. Every 450 word will be wrote down on a flash card and my relatives and close friends will ask me to spell them. Sorry this is a very short blog post but I need to get to studying. :)
TTYL FOR NOW!!!

School Biz

First I would like to mention my grades this year at my new school. All this year my report card shows that I have received straight A's.  Because I have got a perfect report card, I get to participate in the school Spelling Bee. 1-8 grade is allowed to compete, and a lot of the second page words are very, very confusing.

Some of my study words are embryo, resuscitable, fajitas, mezzanine,  Any one know what the heck they mean????!!  My study habits consist of  writing each word three times on notebook paper while spelling them in my head, and having friends and family quiz me. I have a month to learn all 450 and I know I'm not remembering them all.

When I received my list my eyes got as big as bowling balls. My mind told me to twirl right  around and tell my teacher "NO THANK YOU. MAYBE NEXT DOZEN DECADES." HA HOW ABOUT NEVER!! These poor !st graders they are being tortured by looking at words bigger than  them. I'm a fourth grader and having having a heart attack because something so huge is towering over me. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a supercalifrgilistic word in there!!! Ahhhhh! I am ripping my hair out.

Wish me luck and i will keep you posted on my progress.

Student Activities at McClave

Research, time, patience, teamwork, thought and having fun. This is what comes to my mind when I think of the activities at school.

It all started in the library at McClave. One of my friends was surrounded by whispering girls. What was going on? I went and asked. But first I waited and eavesdropped on the conversation.  Ghosts?

I went to them and asked "what are you doing?"

They told me that they was going to solve a case. That there was something eerie in the girls (and boy's I heard over lunch) bathrooms. All I knew was that it was scary. Sounds and heavy footsteps was heard there. I even experienced it.

I joined and now I am doing research on books and the Internet. Writing facts and joining in on conversation with my fellow 'ghost hunters' . Fun so far (also kind of freaky)  My hand alreay hurts and my brain is filling with tons of thoughts. Know anything about ghosts?

Please leave info for me and my classmates.  :)

School Year

The new school year has started at McClave school district and I have learned a tremendous amount of  knowledge. This school has the basics- math, reading, writing etc. But unlike Las Animas it has classroom social studies and a room  full of science tools.

Mrs.  Taque, our music teacher has ordered us musical instruments named recorders. We have been using our instruments in "band" class. We have been notified that these instruments have a wonderful sound and are perfect for young musical players. We just hope that our hard work will pay off for the planned concert in Winter.

At McClave there are student activities that require Student Counsel Reps. This year 4th grade had 7 people that wanted to be in this program. But only 2 people got elected (per class). I ran but lost by 2 votes. Oh well next two quarters.

Wish me good luck at my new school!
